Program Overview

Become an entrepreneur! - one able to identify and pursue make-a-job rather than take-a-job opportunities. Develop the required mindset and skills needed to become self-sufficient and self-employed by launching new businesses, or gain the knowledge to help existing organizations cultivate innovation.

The Entrepreneurship major will allow you to take advantage of the fact that 75% of all new jobs created in Canada in the past decade were generated through entrepreneurial activities.

Courses offerings include Studies in Entrepreneurial Behaviour, Opportunity Identification, Business Planning, Management of Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Finance.

The Entrepreneurship Major culminates in an experiential year-long capstone course (ENT 730/830) designed to integrate entrepreneurial skills in a real-world application. Project Teams of up to six students assess and implement entrepreneurial opportunities within a site company and strive to create significant and measurable new value. Further details on the final year project can be found by clicking on the "ENT Capstone" tab.
